Time is Flying!

Hey all!
I can't believe November is almost over already! C.A.R.E. has been doing well. We've only sold a few calendars so far, but I'm sure we will get more sold over break. We went to another mobile adoption at the beginning of the month. Two dogs were adopted that day. It's such an awesome feeling watching them be taken to a real home. I feel we are truly helping C.A.R.E. We help at the shelter when they need us, we help with mobile adoptions, we're raising money for them and helping with their fundraisers, and we're trying to spread the word about them in general. We haven't had many issues with C.A.R.E. thus far.

Living with my three best friends has its ups and downs. No matter how irritated we get at each other though, we always make up. Sarah and I butt heads the most, but we put ourselves in check and apologize. It happens a lot lol. Anna's pretty quiet, although she's definitely a lot more open with else now than she ever has been. Katrina is usually the peace keeper between Sarah and I.

This month was our turn to host the Summit Social. We had a house cleaning frenzy, then a shopping spree :)
We made food and played music. I felt like it was pretty successful. We didn't have games or crafts, but lots of people came over and we all visited for a while. I feel like I know a few more of the Summit crew now.
Thanks to everyone who came and hung out with us! Special thanks to Ethan Graham for grilling hot dogs!

See everyone in class! Don't forget to check out our calendars!

November!

Hello everyone!

It's finally November and time for Thanksgiving :)

This month has been a good one for our summit group. We had our summit social on Wednesday and quite a few of our classmates showed up. Ethan grilled hot dogs for us and we made 7 layer dip and chips and I baked some cookies. I'm glad everyone liked at least a couple of the things we served. We tried to have something for everyone. Thanks to you all who came, we appreciate it!

This year is going really well so far, there have been numerous mobile adoptions and different fundraisers which we have participated. We have also all been volunteering regularly since September and have almost all of our 15 hours done. I feel that we have made a good impact on CARE, I have regular communication with both the PR director, and the volunteer coordinator so we are always aware of and able to attend their events.

There haven't been that many struggles so far, except that sometimes our volunteer shifts get off track and that our calenders took so long to be finished and put us behind schedule. Other than those things, its been running pretty smoothly.

We as a group have had our fair share of issues living with each other, but overall I believe that we are a good team. I live with three of my best friends in our own place, I'm pretty sure this is as good as it gets when it comes to rooming situations in college. I have really enjoyed all my time with these girls and look forward to the rest of the year.

The wellness program is going... okay. I don't really like listening to that lady but I do enjoy the opportunities that we have to try new things like Tia chi and acupuncture.

Well I think this blog post is finished. Have a good Thanksgiving everyone!

and here comes the cold

Hay everyone!!

It's November and it is getting really cold out there as you all can prolly tell. Our SOCIAL was yesterday and thanks so much for everyone that came. It was a blast!!

We're selling the C.A.R.E. calenders by the way!! They are $10.00 each and all proceeds go to C.A.R.E. so we can use all the support we can get... and btw for all you ORGANIC STUDENTS!! you can get 5 points extra credit for buying a calender.

C.A.R.E has been doing good though. They have had people coming in adopting and playing with the animals which is so wonderful because that means more animals can come in and be potentially adopted. All of these animals deserve a loving home and our summit group is proud to be apart of this organization. We have had mobile adoptions going on, which is always fun to see people play with the animals and it's even more EXCITING to see them get adopted while on the mobile adoption.

Well that it's for now. C Ya

November

Hi Everyone!
Happy November and Thanksgiving....
The C.A.R.E. summit house is going good. Our social is tomorrow and that should be fun. We spent the whole day cleaning and making food. It should be fun! And we are looking forward to everyone being there.

I volunteered at C.A.R.E. today. I actually almost lost a dog today...which was not good at all. It ran directly inside today however. Thank goodness. There were so many little kittens this time. I was so excited to play with them, when I went by and gave them all water and dinner. It was really sad that some of the kittens actually have ring worm...so I wasn't allowed to play with them. But Nikki (person of staff Tuesday) said that they will be ready to be adopted in just a few short weeks.

As always it has been fun living in summit and hanging out with animals every week. I am so happy that I was privileged enough to be able to participate in this charitable event.
